CENTERVILLE — A bomb threat cleared out several businesses in Centerville Saturday afternoon.

As a precaution, police evacuated Dick's Market, 350 E. Pages Lane, and surrounding businesses after an unidentified caller to the store said there was a bomb inside.

An employee later found a metal cylinder in the dry-ice box.

The "bomb" was a bundle of string cheese wrapped with duct tape, according to Centerville Police Sgt. Niles Bartleson. He said lots of manpower, from multiple agencies, and equipment was called to the scene, resulting in thousands of dollars expended.

It was later determined that the call came from inside Dick's Market. Authorities are interviewing employees in order to identify the caller, who could end up facing felony charges.

Business resumed as normal after the threat was alleviated.
