ST. GEORGE — A woman accused of being a part of a prostitution ring busted in southern Utah has pleaded guilty to criminal charges.

During an appearance in 5th District Court last week, Margarita Vargas Gazpar, 29, pleaded guilty to charges of prostitution and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Court records indicate Gazpar was ordered to serve 60 days in jail and then be deported.

Earlier this month, two other men charged in connection with the prostitution bust pleaded guilty to charges. Francisco Aceves-Bedolla, 24, and Silverio Florez-Mendez, 33, pleaded guilty to exploitation of prostitution, were sentenced to jail time and ordered to be deported.

They were all part of a prostitution ring that resulted in the arrest of more than 20 people when it was dismantled last month. Federal immigration officials said prostitutes were being couriered up from Las Vegas to the Dixie area for "appointments" with men.
