FARMINGTON — A Clinton man accused of sexually abusing two teenage girls has struck a plea deal with prosecutors.

During a recent court appearance in 2nd District Court, Richard Ray Marcroft, 43, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony; and a second-degree felony charge of forcible sex abuse. Court records said that in exchange for the plea, Davis County prosecutors dismissed numerous charges of sexual battery and dealing in harmful material to a minor.

Marcroft was accused of showing the victims pornography and performing sex acts on them, according to the criminal charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 25.
