NEEDHAM, Mass. (AP) — A tanker truck hauling gasoline has rolled over and exploded on a highway in Needham, Mass., setting off a fire visible 10 miles away in Boston.

Police say the driver suffered only minor injuries in the accident early Saturday.

Police say the driver told them he swerved to avoid a piece of metal on the highway and his truck hit a guardrail, rolled over and burst into flames.

The tanker was carrying about 11,000 gallons of gasoline, all of which spilled or burned.

Massachusetts state police say sections of the pavement where the fuel spilled must be cut out and replaced before the road can fully reopen.
