The Utah Highway Patrol has identified two Coloradans killed when their pickup truck collided with another vehicle on I-70.

A news release identifies the couple as 59-year-old Richard C. Braun of Edgewater, Colo., and 49-year-old Cindy Bird of Westminster, Colo.

Braun and Bird were in a pickup merging from northbound I-15 to eastbound I-70 about noon Saturday when another truck made a left turn across traffic lanes.

The trucks collided, and Braun's pickup went into the median, skidded and rolled several times.

Bird was partially ejected from the truck and died at the scene. Braun suffered severe head injuries and died while being transferred between Fillmore Hospital and Utah Valley Medical Center.

The driver of the second truck, a 71-year-old woman from southern Utah, suffered only minor injuries.
