NEW YORK — Mint Lane got a second-straight stakes victory Sunday, posting a pacesetting win in the $200,000 Dwyer Stakes at Belmont.

The Dwyer is the first major 3-year-old race in New York following the Belmont Stakes. Mint Lane, who did not compete in the Triple Crown, could be a divisional factor in the second half of the year.

Mint Lane earned a second straight stakes win following his victory in Belmont's Postponed Stakes and improved to 4-for-9. The Dwyer was a significant step forward that had trainer Jimmy Jerkens considering the $1 million Travers Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 23.
