The 2008 presidential election hauntingly nears. Consequently, I believe it is very important that we the people remember that the United States Declaration of Independence consciously rings the freedom bell that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

In my humble view Barack Obama stands for almost the entirely opposite. He is not pro-life. He is not for liberty and the pursuit of happiness from higher taxes, nor is he for safety from international terrorists and tyrants.

I herald John McCain as the much safer and wiser candidate.

I hope everyone votes this year. It was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who stated: "History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people but the appalling silence of the good people!"
