F-16 Fighting Falcons will do Independence Day flyovers in the following locations: Vernal, Liberty, Henefer, Hooper, Provo, Park City, Centerville, North Ogden, Kaysville, Tooele, West Point, Clearfield, Delta and Riverton.
The jets from Hill Air Force Base's 419th Fighter Wing will take off at about 9 a.m. and begin making their flyovers during parades in designated cities. The flyovers have been a tradition for 16 years.
"I feel privileged and honored to be able to fly an F-16 for the Air Force Reserve, and it's even more of an honor to be able to fly over the community where I grew up," said pilot Lt. Col. Kurt Gallegos, a Layton native who has led the flyovers for the past five years. "I couldn't ask for a better place to live, work and serve."
