Eight local lacrosse players were honored as 2008 All-American Lacrosse players by U.S. Lacrosse.

About 450 players nationwide were honored with either first-team or honorable mention status.

The Utah players chosen as first-team honorees were Aleisha Matsuura, Murray, defense; Alexandria, Judge, midfield; Kassandra Lemons, Park City, attack; and Melissa Nash, Highland, midfield.

Honorable mentions were Amanda Abraham, Juan Diego, defense; Melissa Peterson, Lone Peak, midfield; Stephanie Palmer, Murray, midfield; and Taylor Dunn, Alta, midfield.

The selection process is coordinated by the high school committee of the U.S. Lacrosse Women's Division Coaches Council. Area chairpersons for the 80 geographic areas designated by the U.S. Lacrosse high school committee coordinated the voting. Each area is awarded a set number of slots for the team based on the number of high school lacrosse teams in their respective areas.
