The residents of a Pleasant Grove home were outside on the back deck when they noticed flames and alerted authorities.
The blaze is believed to have started in the garage of the home, at about 1200 North and 800 West, before it destroyed the rest of the structure.
"(Firefighters) were on scene for about half an hour before it was controlled and contained to that one home," said Capt. Corey Cluff of the Pleasant Grove Fire Department.
Neighbors were removed from their homes until the fire was under control
No injuries were reported.
"Investigators determined it was accident with an undetermined cause in the garage area," said Cluff.
The fire ruined the home and caused damage to two cars that were in the driveway of the home. A neighbor's fence and shed were also damaged.
"The initial investigation estimates were between $300,000 to $400,000," Cluff said.
