Marriages in this country end almost as frequently as they begin. And the trend doesn't seem to be improving. With marriage rates at such a devastating low, do we really want to allow even more people to get married? California — and every state — needs to focus its efforts on strengthening existing family units rather than creating more family units, which seem destined to fail.

We need to support and strengthen current marriages first before we even think about extending the right to marry to even more individuals.
