During hearings in Washington, D.C., regarding gas prices and how speculation on the commodity oil market is damaging the world's economy, experts explained how the government could force the price to go down by 50 percent within 30 days. The response of the government official was that his agency was looking at this issue, but that he needed more time and of course more money to gather more information before he would consider taking action.

What amazed me even more was that the next day this issue was not plastered on all the front pages of newspapers and the subject of talk on radio and TV stations.

What is going on? Don't the media care what is happening to the economy? Whatever happened to informing the general public?
