For Rep. Chris Cannon to be "stunned" by his defeat in Tuesday's election is another indication of how out of tune he has been with the people he is supposedly representing. It sounds like he took his re-election for granted. Yes, people are "revolting" against representatives who do not represent us. The fate of two Utah legislative incumbents who fell to intraparty challengers should be a wake-up call for all the legislators who arrogantly assume they can do what they want with our taxes, as well. This isn't just about oil prices, illegal immigration and fiscal discipline. I have not forgotten that our legislators voted against aiding those who desperately needed funds for dental problems, have not forgotten our leaders pushing through a soccer stadium against the majority's wishes. The majority also voted against school vouchers.

What does it take for our representatives to hear us?
