OREM — A metaphor mix-up caused the literal evacuation of a telemarketing business.

Police evacuated Convergys, 1409 N. Research Way, Wednesday night after someone reported receiving an e-mail bomb threat from an employee who was quitting, said Orem Police Sgt. Gordon Smith.

However, no bomb was found.

"As vague as it was, I think the guy that sent it was meaning the bomb to be the e-mail (announcement)," Smith said. "He should have used the word 'bombshell."'

Employees still inside the business were temporarily evacuated while police searched the building. "Better safe than sorry," Smith said.
