Highland High students have raised $4,000 for the Afghanistan Orphanage Project.

Every year Highland students raise money for a cause selected by student government. The Afghanistan Orphanage Project was organized by several servicemen and women of the Utah Army National Guard 211th Aviation Regiment, including Miss Utah Jill Stevens, after deployment in Afghanistan in an effort to continue shipments of humanitarian aid to orphanages and remote villages in Afghanistan.

Among fundraisers organized by the students was a Rock the Lot concert, which involved Highland, East, West and Olympus high schools.
