PROVO Community service director and volunteer Ingrid Guzman will leave Centro Hispano after eight years of service. An open house in her honor will be at Centro Hispano, 817 S. Freedom Blvd., today from noon to 6 p.m.
Guzman started Centro Hispano in 2002 to provide orientation and education to Hispanic immigrants. Her services extended from founder and community service director to volunteer with domestic-violence cases. She was a trainer and mentor who reached out to hundreds of individuals in the Hispanic community.
Officials say she has helped the Hispanic community navigate through personal, civil and social changes, differing customs and changing practices.
The public is invited.
