PROVO — A Provo man has been arrested for investigation of forcible sex abuse after a 14-year-old girl reported that he inappropriately touched her at Seven Peaks Water Park.

The girl and another witness told police that on Monday evening she was swimming in the wave pool when the 21-year-old suspect approached her and put his hand on her crotch area, according to a 4th District Court affidavit of probable cause. The victim said the contact was over her swimsuit and that after touching her, he fled from the area, the document said.

The girl said that while the man apologized for the contact, she didn't feel it was accidental, according to the affidavit.

The girl and the same witness reported to police that they later saw the man approach another young girl in a pool and the girl's mother summoned security, according to the affidavit. The security staff at the pool detained the man until Provo police arrived.

The man is being held in Utah County jail for $25,000 bail.

Records indicate that in January the same man was arrested in Orem on suspicion of aggravated sex abuse of a child. He also has two other arrests on record, for investigation of reckless driving and a drug-related incident.
