The Utah ski season has ended. It ended last Sunday when Snowbird officially closed its lift. Now, resorts are looking ahead to summer adventures.

Snowbird staff toured and reviewed the resort's upper slopes and with the hot temperatures felt it was time to close. Twice in the past 13 years, in 1995 and 2005, Snowbird has been able to run lifts up to and including July 4.

Snowbird was to have closed its lifts on June 1, but was able to run weekends through June 22.

This year, Snowbird received nearly 650 inches of snow. Its long-term average is 500 inches.
