A woman was injured in a drive-by shooting in Salt Lake City early Monday evening, police said.

Around 5:30 p.m., a half-dozen shots were fired between people inside a gold Cadillac and a gray Chevrolet Monte Carlo near 900 West and 800 South, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Isaac Atencio.

Police originally did not believe anyone had been injured, but a woman, whose age was not immediately known, showed up at a nearby hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound following the incident, Atencio said.

Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Police did not have descriptions of the shooters Monday and did not know if the victim knew them.
