Once again, our elected representatives are asking us to return them for yet another term of the easiest and highest-paying jobs they ever could wish for in Washington. Their records speak volumes.

Sen. Orrin Hatch went to Congress to do good, and he has done "well."

Sen. Bob Bennett is the greatest do-nothing senator since S.I. Hayakawa (California) rode to victory on his resistance to student riots at San Francisco State University then literally dozed through his term in office.

Where are the statesmen? Did the last one die about 1980?

It seems all we now have are petty people wrangling about minor issues, making something out of nothing and ignoring the important concerns of the day.
