OGDEN — Colorful, life-size horses, each outfitted with unique and beautiful artwork, will be unveiled Tuesday, July 1, at 5 p.m. for the "Trail to Pioneer Days" celebration on Historic 25th Street.

In conjunction with the 75th annual Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo, 24 hand-painted horses will be on display from July 1 to Oct. 1. The horses will line the streets beginning at the Union Station and extending down 25th to Washington, then north down Washington to the Junction and south to the Municipal Building. The celebration will include the horse artists and sponsors, entertainment by Ogden Buskers on each corner, and food sold by Historic 25 restaurants.

Each of the 24 large horses (and 24 matching tabletop-size horses) is sponsored by a local business or individual that has teamed up with some of the area's most skilled artists to create an exclusive work of "horse" art.

The "Trail to Pioneer Days" horse exhibit is also part of the annual "Traces of the West Art Show" displayed at Ogden Blue Print & Supply July 1-17 located on 25th Street.

The 75th Annual Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo will be held July 19, 21-24. July 24 will feature fireworks and the crowning of Miss Rodeo Utah. Tickets for all nights will be available for purchase on June 21.
