The body of a missing Holladay woman has been found in a remote part of southeastern Idaho.

Michelle Erickson, 37, was found around 11:30 a.m. Sunday near Walker Creek, an area about 25 miles south of Pocatello, said Bannock County Sheriff Lorin Nielsen.

Police believe she committed suicide and had been dead for at least 10 days.

Erickson was last heard from June 9, when she made arrangements with her former stepson to cut his hair at a later date. One June 10, Erickson used her credit card to purchase charcoal fluid in Downey, Idaho, police said.

Some campers were four-wheeling in the area when they saw Erickson's red Pontiac Grand Am on Sunday.

Police found prescription drugs, charcoal fluid and a letter inside Erickson's car, Nielsen said.

"Everything at the scene was consistent with a suicide," Nielsen said. "We're investigating it as a suicide unless something else comes up."

A coroner planned to examine Erickson's body Monday, police said.
