During World War II, 10,607 U.S. soldiers — 3,695 of whom were African-Americans — built the Alcan Highway across 1,522 miles of Canadian and Alaskan bogs, mountains and forests in an astonishing eight months. So please don't insult my intelligence by telling me that even if we started drilling today we wouldn't see any new oil for a decade.

There was a time in America when we solved our problems by rolling up our sleeves and acting with courage, purpose and determination. Now we're blocked at every turn by effete lawmakers and latte-drinking eco-fascists. It's time to push these people aside and git 'er dun!
