A 30-year-old man was in extremely critical condition Friday after his car rolled several times on I-80.
About 7:20 a.m., a man was traveling on I-80 at an extremely high rate of speed near 7400 West when he lost control of his car while switching lanes, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden. The car went into the median, rolled numerous times and came to rest on the opposite side of the freeway, he said.
The man was wearing a seatbelt and was not ejected, but suffered extensive injuries, Roden said.
At least one witness reported the man may have been street racing when he crashed.
"We are investigating that side, trying to determine if that is true," Roden said.
The name of the man, from Erda, was not released Friday afternoon.
