Despite the outrage over the publication of the "dossiers" of FLDS activists sent to Texas by Utah law enforcement agencies, the Deseret News has presented fair and factual information by not taking sides on the issue. Instead, it has left it to the individual readers to decide where they stand, either for or against an ever-encroaching police state.

With the factual information in hand, I can exercise my rights as a citizen to work for change in this matter by petitioning local, county and state officials to stop this type of dangerous "thought police" type of practice. I would have thought Mark Shurtleff would have learned more from coach Chavis' totalitarianism simulation in high school — I certainly did. If he did, he should pay it forward to those responsible for these ridiculous but dangerous "dossiers."
