University Neighborhood Partners is kicking off its annual "Partners in the Park" on Tuesday, June 17, by honoring 225 graduates from the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College.

The free community event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jordan Park, 1060 S. 900 West.

The graduates, all from west side neighborhoods, will be congratulated by U. President Michael Young and SLCC President Cynthia A. Bioteau. Seven University Neighborhood Partners scholarship recipients will also be recognized, along with seven West High School graduating seniors who participated in a UNP partnership and will be attending college.

"Partners in the Park" events are held on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. The free community gatherings are aimed at connecting west side families with the U. of U. through activities that raise awareness of and access to higher education.
