Video surveillance footage of an armed holdup in a Salt Lake hotel parking lot led to charges against three people in 3rd District court Friday.

Cheyenna Contrys, 20, Salt Lake County, Daniel J. Brown, 30, Sandy, and Troy Anthony Sandos, 29, Murray, are each charged with a single count of felony aggravated robbery in connection with the robbery of a man who was waiting in a car at the Days Inn Hotel at 315 W. 3300 South. A laptop computer, cellular phone, personal checks and cash were taken from the man June 5.

Court documents indicate that Contrys drove in to the hotel parking lot with the victim, went to rent a room, then returned to the car. Moments later two men in bandanas got in the back of the car, and one of the men pointed a silver handgun at the victim and demanded money.

South Salt Lake police state in the complaint that the video clearly shows Brown and Sandos arriving in a truck, donning their bandanas and entering the victim's car. The truck in the footage is registered to Brown, and police say items identified in the video were found in a search of Brown's truck, as well as a silver handgun and bandanas.

Property belonging to the victim was also found during a search of the home in which Contrys and Sandos were found by police.
