The team of Sally Horrack and Tenille Slack grabbed the lead after the first round of the Women's State Four-Ball Tournament at Rose Park Golf Course.

Slack and Horrack, former teammates at Weber State, when they were known as Tenille Howe and Sally Bingham, teamed for a 1-under-par 71 in the best-ball format, one shot better than the team of Sue Nyhus and Kari Lawrence. Two teams, Terry Hansen-Claudia Nielsen and Stephanie Belnap-Jean Labrie are three shots back at 75. Four more teams are tied at 76.

Sandy Beveridge and Jane Hughes lead the second flight at 77, while Joanne Kim and Linda Jun lead the third flight at 82. Three teams — Diana Nicol-Nita Doyal, Marty Wilcock-Kim Carlos and Maryjo Aydoner-Marilyn Villani — are tied for the lead in the fourth flight, while Barrie Frankland-Barbara Neuffer and Bonnie Turner-Nicky Salazar lead the fifth flight.

Today's final round will be played at Glendale Golf Course, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
