MURRAY — Parents can have the installation of child safety seats inspected tonight by professionals who can assure them the seats are installed correctly.

Safe Kids Salt Lake County Coalition/Safe Kids Buckle Up, in partnership with Larry Miller Chevrolet, will hold a car-seat checkup tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Larry Miller Chevrolet, 5650 S. State. The event is one of nearly 200 taking place at locations across the country in honor Safe Kids Buckle Up reaching a million-car-seat milestone.

Safe Kids Buckle Up teaches children and their caregivers about proper use of booster seats and safety belts, the dangers of trunk entrapment and heatstroke in parked cars, and the hazardous blind spots around vehicles. The program offers parents and caregivers hands-on instruction in installing car seats and booster seats and presents interactive education programs for children 14 and under.

Safe Kids Salt Lake County works to prevent accidental childhood injury, the leading killer of children ages 1-14. Safe Kids Salt Lake County is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network, and is led by Salt Lake Valley Health Department.
