LAYTON — A FrontRunner train collided with a Jeep after police say a man drove around some construction barricades and stopped on the tracks Tuesday night.

The driver of the Jeep was able to get out of his vehicle before the collision, and the two passengers on board the train were uninjured, said Layton Police Sgt. Mark Chatlin.

Just before midnight, the man was driving south on Main Street at 900 South when he drove through construction barriers and onto a closed on-ramp to I-15, Chatlin said. The man hit a small concrete median near 900 South. He continued driving southbound and ended up on the train tracks.
