The Utah National Guard is working with state and federal officials to transfer the ownership of about 300 acres belonging to the Bureau of Land Management that the National Guard already manages.

The National Guard recently announced it is seeking a change in actual ownership to help "expedite the approval process for future building projects," spokesman Maj. Hank McIntire said in a statement Monday. Transferring the ownership of the land, which lies on the west side of Redwood Road, will not increase the camp's acreage since it is located within the boundaries of Camp Williams. The new facilities are needed to deal with an increasing number of soldiers using the camp.
