C.J. Porter, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver from Concord High School in California, plans to sign a national letter of intent with Utah in February.

"I'm happy with my decision," said Porter, who listed California, Oregon and UCLA as other schools that have shown interest.

The University of Utah, he added, is "a nice school and everything" and provides an environment he's eager to join.

Porter is the fourth player to give the Utes an early commitment for 2009 — joining lineman Vyncent Jones (Jordan High School), safety Jarrad Stewart (Pearland High School, Texas) and running back Chris Brown (Newbury Park High School, Calif.).
