TORONTO (AP) — Favored Ginger Brew seized the lead early in the stretch and cruised to a six-length victory Sunday in the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks. Ginger Brew, owned by Stronach Stables, passed 32-1 long shot Authenticat just after the final turn and finished at 1 minute, 51.4 seconds. Victory Romance had a late surge to place second, while Authenticat settled for third. Victory Romance jockey Emile Ramsammy claimed interference by Ginger Brew after the race, but stewards dismissed the complaint after a brief second look. It's the second Oaks victory for owner Frank Stronach and the first for trainer Brian Lynch and jockey Javier Castellano.
