COLUMBUS, Ohio — Midfielder Ronnie O'Brien set up goals by Ryan Johnson and Ramiro Corrales and San Jose defeated Columbus 2-0 Saturday night.

Johnson gave the Earthquakes (3-6-1) the lead in the 10th minute and Corrales scored in the 60th. San Jose goalie Joe Cannon made three saves for the shutout.

The Crew (6-4-1) is winless in its last four matches with three losses and a tie and has not scored in 368 minutes.

Johnson's goal on a header from 8 yards out marked the first time this season San Jose had scored in the opening 30 minutes.

D.C. UNITED 2, FIRE 1: At Bridgeview, Ill., Luciano Emilio scored in stoppage time to lift D.C. United. Jaime Moreno tied the score at 1-1 for United in the 63rd minute. With 4 minutes of stoppage time, Emilio scored, dribbling down the left side against two Fire defenders, crossing to the middle and sending a right foot shot past Fire goalie Jon Busch. The Fire (6-3-1) had given up just six goals in their first nine games. The victory was only the first for United (4-7-1) in seven road games this season. Fire forward Chad Barrett scored his team-high fifth goal in the 27th minute for a 1-0 lead.

GALAXY 3, RAPIDS 2: At Carson, Calif., Alvaro Pires and Edson Buddle scored first-half goals to help David Beckham get a win in his return as Los Angeles beat Colorado. Ely Allen added an early second-half goal for the Galaxy (5-4-2), who moved into sole possession of first place in the Western Conference. Colin Clark and Herculez Gomez scored second-half goals for Colorado (5-6-0). Beckham missed last week's 2-0 loss at Toronto as he was away with the English national team.
