MOAB — A small plane flipped onto its top Saturday afternoon while taxiing toward the Canyonlands Field Airport.

The pilot, 42-year-old Mario Richard of Quebec, Canada, was unhurt.

The plane overturned about 3:45 p.m. after a strong gust of wind lifted its tail off the dirt runway, Grand County dispatchers said. The Skydive Moab plane had just dropped off two sky divers, and there were no other passengers.

The National Transportation Safety Board plans to investigate, dispatchers said.
