JOSEPH, Sevier County — A Draper teen was killed after heavy hail and slick roads caused a vehicle to roll on I-70 in central Utah Wednesday afternoon.

Eleigh Lecates, 15, was in the back seat of a 2005 Ford Explorer that rolled multiple times near the town of Joseph just after 1:30 p.m., said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden.

"It was hailing pretty heavily and the roads were slick," Roden said. "The driver lost control, and the vehicle turned over several times."

Corine Pevny, 46, and 15-year-old Cami Pevny, both of Highland, were taken to a Sevier County hospital by ambulance. Richard Pevny, 58, was taken to a nearby hospital by helicopter.

Both adults were wearing seat belts, but police said they were unsure if the teens were also wearing seat belts.
