The Salt Lake County Council approved a deal Tuesday that will bring a new library to West Jordan.
The $17 million library will sit adjacent to Veterans Memorial Park at 1985 W. 7800 South.
West Jordan officials donated four acres for the library, in addition to $1.25 million to offset construction costs. The city will also pay up to $750,000 for improvements to the site.
The new library will also serve as headquarters of the county library system's administration. County Library Director Jim Cooper said the administration has outgrown its current digs at the Whitmore Library.
