PLEASANT GROVE — The name of a 16-month-old girl who was accidentally struck by a minivan backing out of the driveway of a Pleasant Grove home last Thursday has been released by the Pleasant Grove Police Department.

Funeral services for Katelynn Redmond, daughter of Jared Redmond and Jennifer Dalton, of Pleasant Grove, will be held 11 a.m. today at the Pleasant Grove East Stake Center, 825 S. Loader Ave. Following the funeral services she will be buried in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

An account for donations has been set up at Zions Bank.

The girl was struck Thursday afternoon when an adult female family member was backing out of the driveway and did not hear warnings yelled by a neighbor who witnessed the incident. Pleasant Grove Police Sgt. Edward Amacher said the child was playing in the fenced front yard of the home with several other children but managed to open the latched gate and get onto the driveway.
