A team of West Jordan and Department of Public Safety SWAT officers competed in the second annual US National SWAT Championships in Castlerock, Colo., from May 21-23.

The officers were tested on team organization, fitness and weapons skills through a series of live-fire events.

The team placed first in the First Choice Shield Assault, where they displayed the proper use of a shield while shooting at targets of differing distances. The winning time was 39 seconds.

Overall, the team placed fifth out of 30 competing teams.
