Jarrad Stewart, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound safety out of Pearland High School in Texas, has given the University of Utah an early commitment. The senior plans to sign a national letter of intent with the Utes in February.

Stewart, who will reportedly play linebacker for the Oilers this fall, is the second addition to Utah's 2009 recruiting class — joining Jordan High School lineman Vyncent Jones (6-4, 295).

According to rivals.com, Stewart was also recruited by Boise State, Houston, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Rice, SMU and Texas Tech.
