SUNSET — Volunteers with a bit of of green thumb can use their skills to help low-income families stock their pantries this summer. The Community of Hope and Tuff Shed are working together to help families in Sunset and Davis County raise their own vegetables.

Each family will have a 20-by-20-foot plot of ground located at Sunset Garden, located behind the Sunset City Building. Water, seeds and gardening tools required to maintain the garden will be provided at no charge. Tuff Shed will supply a garden shed to provide easy access to tools on site.

Volunteers are needed to help build a secondary irrigation system, build a picnic area for the families to enjoy and help with weeding and landscaping. Donations will be accepted as well.

Sunset Garden also includes a youth garden and a large pumpkin patch, both cared for by various Davis County youth groups. Produce grown there will supply area food pantries.
