A Utah County man remained barricaded in his home late Friday night, according to Utah County Sheriff's Department acting public information officer Lt. Castleberry.
At 7:10 p.m., a call from inside the house went to Utah County dispatch. The call was from a family member, who said the man was intoxicated and making threats while brandishing a handgun. After the call, all family members other than the man left the home.
Officers from Utah County Sheriff went to the home, at 650 N. 1100 E. in unincorporated Utah County, two blocks from the LDS Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
After trying to make contact with the man unsuccessfully, 40 S.W.A.T. team members arrived, as well as a negotiating team. They tried to make phone contact with the man, and made other attempts to contact him, as well.
