Tell me again why we need to make an addictive drug (alcoholic beverages) easier to get. Is it because we have the lowest drunken-driving accident rate in the nation and want to get it more in line with the national average? Is it because we have the lowest per capita drinking level in the nation and the beverage producers aren't happy with us?

As long as I've been alive there has been a call to change our liquor laws so we would be more welcoming to tourists — that we were the laughingstock of the nation. However, every year we seem to break records on tourism. Some said we would never get the Winter Olympics until we got more in line with the nation. Yet it happened anyway. I've heard many people make Utah part of their family travel plans because they have heard it is a family friendly state. Maybe we just want to change that silly image.
