Internationally renowned pianist Jim Brickman will kick off the Timpview High School concert series Saturday to help raise money for the high school's new band instruments.

Other artists scheduled for the weekly concerts include nationally known Ryan Shupe & the Rubber Band and locally based artists Kalai and Jericho Road.

The concerts, which will be held every Saturday at the Timpview High Auditorium, 3570 N. 650 East, Provo, will begin at 7 p.m. Ticket prices are $15, with the exception of the Brickman concert that will cost $25. A concert package that includes tickets for every performance is available for $60. That and individual tickets can be purchased online at www.timpviewband.com or by phone by calling Rob Dahl at 801-669-7373, RaDene Hattfield at 801-368-5046 or Stephanie Swift at 801-358-2023.

Money raised will be used to help buy new band instruments, something Timpview hasn't had in 20 years, according to a Timpview High School statement. The school needs an excess of $250,000 for the instruments.
