FEVER 82, SPARKS 78 At Indianapolis, Tan White scored 11 of her 20 points in the second overtime, and the Indiana Fever held off the Los Angeles Sparks 82-78 on Thursday night to hand Candace Parker her first professional loss. Parker had 16 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks, five assists and five steals. The rookie from Tennessee scored six points in the final minute of the second overtime to keep the Sparks (2-1) in the game. It was a wild game that featured failed dunk attempts by both Parker and Lisa Leslie.
LYNX 75, SKY 69: At Chicago, Seimone Augustus scored 19 points and tied a career high with nine rebounds to help Minnesota remain unbeaten. Anna DeForge and rookie Charde Houston added 15 points each for Minnesota (3-0), which is off to the best start in franchise history. Rookie Candice Wiggins added 11 points.
Sylvia Fowles had 16 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Chicago (1-2), which had won three straight against the Lynx. Candice Dupree added 12 points and Dominique Canty had eight points and six assists.
Nicky Anosike's jumper with 1:25 left gave the Lynx a two-point lead. Wiggins then picked up an offensive foul but made up for it with a 3-pointer to give Minnesota a 71-66 lead with 40.9 seconds remaining.
The Sky got within two after Fowles converted a three-point play with 32.2 left but Augustus and Houston each hit a pair of free throws in the final 21 seconds.
