A pair of standout high school pitchers have signed baseball letters of intent with BYU. Marc Oslund
of West High in Torrance, Calif., and Nathan Bunch
from Hazen High in Renton, Wash., inked spring letters with BYU to join the eight previous signees from last November. Oslund, 6-4, 215, had an 8-0 record as a pitcher and also played quarterback in football. Bunch, 6-3, 180, was 4-1 with a 1.15 ERA as the MVP and first-team all Seamount League.
Utah State incoming softball player Rachel Evans
was named NJCAA third-team All-America for the 2008 season. She also earned first-team all-region 18 honors by the Scenic Western Athletic Conference. Evans, a native of Woods Cross and an alumna of Viewmont High School, helped lead Southern Idaho to the SWAC Region 18 Championship and earn a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah State coach Raegan Pebley announced Thursday that junior college transfers Gekeela Clemmons and Stacey Howard have signed to compete for the Aggies beginning in the 2008-09 season. Clemmons, a 5-9 guard from Port Saint Joe, Fla., will have two years of eligibility remaining while Howard, a 6-1 forward from Australia, will have three.
