A fundraising event will be held Saturday to raise money for a production of a musical about Emma Smith.

"Through Emma's Eyes: A Musical Production" uses music, dance and narration to reveal the real Emma Smith after the death of her husband, Joseph. Jenny McKinney is the originator of the musical, and director Chelsea Woodruff and her husband, Kyle, are assisting.

The Saturday event will include a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a silent auction and live auction. It will be held at the Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 250 N. 1950 West in Salt Lake City.

Tickets are $5 per person and are available at www.throughemmaseyesmusical.org. The funds raised will cover the cost of the production.

Auditions for the musical will be held June 20 and 21. About 60 roles for both males and females and ranging from age 6 to age 60 are available. Rehearsals will begin July 12 and will run most Saturdays until the performance in November.
