TACOMA, Wash. — A battle between last year's two best Northwest Division teams ended in a 1-1 tie.

In the 32nd minute, Steve Fellows played a through ball to Zach Defrancis and Zach blasted it past the Tide goalkeeper for a great finish.

The next goal game for the Tide in the 53rd minute when Spencer Schomacer slid the ball behind the Cougars' defense to Raphael Cox, who finished the goal.

Both teams had opportunities to score, but after a battle of good defense and offense on both sides, the game ended at 1-1.

"Obviously we want to win when we're on the road," said assistant coach Chad Sackett, "But we're glad we got a point. We've never won at this field so it worked out well for us."

The Cougars fly home today and head off again on Friday to play the Abbotsford Rangers and the Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada.
