• 35 children 19 and younger died by drowning between 2003 and 2005.

• 18 of the deaths occurred in open bodies of water such as lakes and rivers.

• Open body of water, 50 percent.

• Residential pool, 9 percent.

• Bathtub, 9 percent.

• Commercial pool, 9 percent.

• Other, 23 percent.
