FRESNO, Calif. — Scott McClain delivered a two-run single in the fifth inning that snapped a 1-1 tie and sent the Fresno Grizzlies on their way to a 3-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Thursday night.

The Bees had tied the game in the top of the fifth on a run-scoring single by Brad Coon, but Fresno loaded the bases with one out on a single and two walks before McClain lofted an 0-1 pitch from Nick Adenhart into short left centerfield to bring home a pair of runs.

Adenhart (4-2) took the loss, as he allowed three runs on eight hits in five innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

Henry Bonilla, Jason Bulger and Darren O'Day each worked one scoreless inning of relief.

Kendry Morales and Coon each had two hits for the Bees, as they close out their California road trip with a 2-5 record.

NOTES: The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced Thursday that the club has optioned infielder Matt Brown to Salt Lake and recalled infielder Brandon Wood. In other movement, the Salt Lake Bees have also recalled infielder Adam Morrissey from Double-A Arkansas.
